Taiwanese director Ang Lee (Life of Pi) is in talks with Skydance Media regarding the filming of the film, writes The Hollywood Reporter .In the center of the story is an elderly assassin who decided to retire. Finally, he will have to fight a serious opponent - his clone, which is 25 years younger than him and is at the peak of his capabilities. For the first time the project got to the Disney company back in 1997, and then the director was Tony Scott ("The Last Boy Scout"). However, for many years the film could not be launched in any way. The stumbling block was the lack of necessary technology. Producers and studio executives wanted to use computer effects so that one actor could play both roles at once, but at that time this was not possible. This fact did not stop the attempts to film Gemini Man . One by one, screenwriters Brian Helgelend (Los Angeles Secrets), Andrew Nikkol (The Truman Show) and David Benioff (Troy) took on the draft. The latter was paid $ 2 million for his work, which speaks volumes about how much interest the idea of a thriller aroused in Hollywood.
