The next project of the actor and director will also focus on personal drama and war. As reported by Variety , Gibson is producing the film adaptation of The Crossroad , about Australian soldier Mark Donaldson, who received the highest award of your country.

The autobiographical work of Donaldson acquaints readers with the life of a young man who, left without parents, chose to fight over self-destruction and performed a military feat. After the tragic events, Mark joined the army and did everything in his power to get into the Special Forces paratrooper unit, a division of the Australian Army that recruits the best of the best. In Afghanistan in 2008, Donaldson heroically rescued a wounded Afghan translator from Taliban fire, and the following year became the first Australian to receive the Victoria Cross for Australia in 40 years.

Mel will be working on the new project with Icon Productions , which produced such films as Braveheart, Apocalypse and the aforementioned For reasons of conscience". The latter will hit the big screens in November.

The other day the Australian confirmed the sequel to the drama "The Passion of the Christ" announced in June. The movie, according to Variety , will be called The Resurrection , and the sequel may be directed by Gibson himself.
