The Twilight Zone returns to screens

Image The success of Star Trek: Discovery, recently renewed for a second season, inspired CBS to add a new version of another iconic show, The Twilight Zone, to its All Access lineup. The portal Variety reports about it.

Head of CBS Corp. Leslie Moonves did not give up going into the details of the impending reboot. Insiders only report that negotiations are underway with Jordan Peel (Get Out) and his company Monkeypaw Productions. Peel is likely to executive produce the new anthology, with Marko Ramirez (Daredevil, Sons of Anarchy) as showrunner and screenwriter.

The original "Twilight Zone" ran from 1959 to 1964. Created by Rod Serling, the series combined elements of fantasy, fantasy, drama and horror. Each episode was a separate story, which usually ended with an unexpected plot twist. The "Twilight Zone" was revived twice: first in 1985, and then in 2002. Film fans also had the opportunity to see the famous anthology on the big screens thanks to the film produced by Steven Spielberg.

CBS has long wanted to revive The Twilight Zone. As recently as last year, Brian Singer, Simon Kinberg and Craig Sweeney ("Areas of Darkness") were engaged in a new version of the cult show. Kinberg eventually left the project for a new X-Men movie, and now none of the three will be involved in the reboot.
