Small but smart

Image Yesterday we reported that the British company The Ink Factory has begun to create a reboot of the popular 80-ies of the last century TV series Unthinkable Stories. Today, information on the progress of work on a new version of another famous television anthology has appeared on the Web. As it became known to the portal That Hashtag Show, the creators of the "Twilight Zone" remake are in talks with actors Jacob Tremblay and Reese Ahmed.

The original series aired on CBS from 1959 to 1964. The sci-fi anthology was a huge hit with audiences and won an impressive collection of tele-awards, including three Emmy Awards. In 2013, TV Guide ranked The Twilight Zone the fifth Greatest TV Show in TV History.

The first reboot of the series was created in 1985. To the disappointment of the fans of the franchise, the updated "Twilight Zone" began to rapidly lose ratings for the second year on air. As a result, CBS management gave the series a third season extension, but only in order to produce enough episodes to send their brainchild to syndication. The second attempt to give the anthology new life was made in 2002. The UPN project did not appeal to either critics or viewers. Unsurprisingly, the show was canceled after the first season.

In the winter of 2012, CBS Corporation announced its desire to revive the franchise again. Five years later, it became known that the new "Twilight Zone" will find shelter on the online platform CBS All Access, and its producer will be the creator of the horror movie "Get Out" Jordan Peel. The series is expected to follow in the footsteps of the original, with each episode being a separate story. According to insiders, Tremblay and Ahmed are vying for roles in the episode tentatively titled "The Kid President." The first is offered to play the youngest US president in history, and the second - to embody the image of the head of the election campaign of a young politician.

Riz Ahmed was most recently seen by film fans in the blockbuster Venom, and next week he will return to the big screens in the Sisters Brothers western. As for Tremblay, he continues to justify his status as one of the most talented young actors of our time. At the moment, Jacob is busy on the set of Doctor Sleep, which tells about the adventures of Danny Torrance, an adult from the legendary psychological horror film The Shining.
