The Paramount Pictures Film Studio is launching a remake of the cult action movie "48 Hours", which kicked off Eddie Murphy's Hollywood career. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is entrusted to brothers Ben Safdie and Joshua Safdie, who previously starred in the crime drama Good Time.

The new version, scripted by Jerrod Carmichael, will be movieed by Chernin Entertainment. The terms of work and a possible rental schedule at the time of this writing were not specified.

Recall that the original movie was presented to the audience in 1982. The movie stars Nick Nolte, Annette O'Toole, Frank McRae, James Rymar, David Patrick Kelly, Sonny Landham, Brion James, Kerry Sherman, Jonathan Banks and other actors.

With a production budget of just one million dollars, the project grossed $ 78 million and quickly earned the status of a cult in its genre. Eddie Murphy was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Discovery of the Year category.
