Netflix has a terrible summer

Image Even the participants in the Battle of the Psychics cannot predict the timing of the restoration of the world box office, so the Disney studio began selling films on online services. Last week we reported that Disney people are parting ways with the psychological thriller Woman in the Window. Today it was revealed that the Walt Disney Empire has struck another lucrative deal with Netflix.

Disney gave Netflix the rights to show the trilogy based on the book series by R.L. Stein's "Street of Fear". The franchise was originally owned by 20th Century Fox, which prepared films for the big screen release. These plans have sunk into oblivion: first, Fox assets went to Disney, and then the notorious coronavirus intervened.

The Disney people faced a difficult choice - either to wait for the rental to resume, or to send the paintings to their own online services. The company felt that Fear Street was not suitable for either the Disney + family platform or the older Hulu. Soon, Disney had a third option - to sell movies to Netflix.

Netflix is planning a Summer of Fear horror festival in 2021, so an extra horror trilogy will come in handy. All three films are expected to be released next summer several weeks apart.
