Netflix will see the woman in the window
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a heavy toll on movie theaters but has enriched streaming platforms. Netflix will use quarantine profits to replenish the film library: the leadership of the online service entered into negotiations to acquire the rights to show the thriller "Woman in the Window."The film was created under the wing of Fox 2000. In March of last year, the rights to "Woman in the Window" passed to Disney Studios, which were disappointed with test screenings and sent the film for rework. The premiere has moved from October 2019 to May 2020. Then the coronavirus intervened, which caused the release date to move indefinitely. The deal between Netflix and Disney looks like a win-win. Worldwide distribution has not yet recovered, so it makes no sense for Disney to release a thriller in theaters. At the same time, the film is too mature and serious to go to the Disney + family service. It’s easier for Disney people to get a guaranteed payment from Netflix than waiting for the rental to resume and hoping that "The Woman in the Window" will shoot in the box office.  The cast includes Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Julianne Moore, Anthony Mackie and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Netflix executives are confident that the thriller will become an online hit, especially among Gone Girl and Yard Window fans.
