Strong woman crying by the window

Image In March of this year, Disney closed the deal of the century with Fox Corporation. Since then, she has frozen and sent for revision a lot of interesting projects 20th Century Fox. Another victim of Disney's was the film adaptation of AJ Finn's action-packed thriller "The Woman in the Window". Fortunately for fans of film and literature, this is not a complete cancellation of the project.

20th Century Fox acquired the film rights to Finn's book two years before its release. The film was developed by the Fox 2000 Film Department, Oscar-winning producer Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men) and renowned screenwriter and playwright Tracy Letts. The novel went on sale early last year and quickly justified its advances, making its way to the New York Times bestseller list.

When Fox 2000 signed Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Julianne Moore, and director Joe Wright, critics began talking about Woman in the Window as a potential Oscar nominee. The film was shot last summer and autumn, and its premiere was scheduled for October 2019.

This spring the rights to rent the thriller went to Disney Studios. As is often the case, the company sent the film for test screenings. The preliminary sessions turned into a crushing fiasco: several foreign publications at once report that by the third act of the story, many viewers lose the thread of the narrative and finally get entangled in a complex plot.

The Walt Disney Company had to remove the painting from the fall release schedule. Wright is expected to have five days to re-shoot key scenes, which will begin immediately after Amy Adams finishes Ron Howard's Country Elegy. According to preliminary information, the premiere of the thriller has been shifted to next year. We reported a few months ago that Disney is planning to disband the Fox 2000 division. It looks like The Woman in the Window will be the last film to be released under this famous banner.
