Tender is a mini-series got a scriptwriter

Image Hulu's management has finally decided on the choice of a screenwriter for the television adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel Tender is the Night. The search for a candidate stopped at the British playwright Nina Rein ("The Mistresses"), by the way, the grand-niece of Boris Pasternak. This is the first news about the project, which they started talking about back in the summer of 2018. It is being developed by Playground Entertainment, which created the King Lear TV movie and the Wolf Hall mini-series.

Tender in the Night, Fitzgerald's fourth and final novel, tells the story of a promising young psychiatrist, Dick Diver. The hero meets 16-year-old Nicole Warren, a schizophrenic patient, marries a patient and moves to the French Riviera to start a glamorous life full of parties. But a carefree existence cannot last forever: a doctor starts having problems with business, a marriage with a young wife collapses, and an elderly father dies far overseas. Intrigue, cheating and alcohol problems lead to a sad end.

Rein's portfolio includes Consent, which has been well received by British critics, and Tribes, which has won two prestigious theater awards. Both performances were successfully staged at the British National Theater. Raine also wrote the script for the BBC series "Mistresses" and has participated in several other television projects.

Other details about the series are still unknown.
