Nightmare Cinema welcomes new visitors
Filmmaker Mick Garris knows how to bring together a group of talented horror directors: more than a decade ago, he did it on the set of the series "Masters of Horror", after which he continued to popularize the anthology format. Most of these projects find shelter on TV, but Garris persistently glorifies this trend on the big screens. His anthology, Cinema of Nightmares, released in 2018, has received a lot of flattering reviews. In a conversation with reporters, Garris admitted that he is already preparing a sequel to the film.The original consisted of five segments. In the story, random loser passers-by wander into the abandoned Rialto cinema, where their worst fears come to life on the big screen. A mysterious Projectionist performed by Mickey Rourke was in charge of all the creepy action. According to Garris, for the second part, he will again bring together filmmakers from around the world. Moreover, he has a ready-made script for one of the segments in his hands, negotiations were underway with several directors. Work on the sequel would have progressed more actively if not for the pandemic, due to which the project was paused. However, Garris hopes that soon they will be able to return to work, albeit not in America - the producers are seriously considering the idea of filming in other countries.
