Paramount learns tiger power

Image Hollywood will delight young audiences and fantasy lovers: the animation department of Paramount gathers participants in the film adaptation of the book trilogy "Tiger Apprentice".

The first part of the fantasy series by Lawrence Yep was released in 2003. The book was a critical success and became a HarperCollins bestseller. In the center of the story is an ordinary Asian-American boy from San Francisco, who became a student of a magic tiger and a defender of the forces of good.

The first attempt to film the book was made in 2008, when the rights to the project belonged to the Cartoon channel. Last spring, the cartoon went under the wing of Paramount. It looks like the studio is finally happy with the script and is putting it into production.

The director's chair of the cartoon will be occupied by Carlos Baena, a Pixar animator who worked on WALL-E and Toy Story 3. The voice of the tiger will be given by the star of Crazy Rich Asians, Henry Golding.
