The Da Vinci Code Prequel Found Its Langdon

Image Ashley Zuckerman, known to our users as Jake Greggson from Childhood's End, has signed on to star in the television prequel to The Da Vinci Code. The project, commissioned by NBC back in January, will be called Langdon and will be showrunners by Jay Beatty and Dan Dworkin, who were behind MTV's horror movie Scream.

In the center of the prequel plot will be a young professor Robert Langdon (Zuckerman), who will have to solve a number of difficult puzzles in order to save his abducted mentor. To make the professor more efficient, the CIA bosses will force him to join a special group, which will lead Langdon to uncover a large-scale conspiracy.

The script for the series is based on Dan Brown's novel The Lost Symbol. The writer's books have sold millions of copies around the world, and three have already been filmed: the aforementioned "Da Vinci Code" of 2006, "Angels and Demons" of 2009 and "Inferno" of 2016. Tom Hanks starred in all three.
