Ethan Hawke is not at all new to directing and, judging by the information on the Web, he will add another work to his filmography. The actor will direct Tennessee Williams' experimental play "Camino Real", which, by his own admission, he has been obsessed with for years. The film was produced by Uri Singer, who recently finished working with Hawke on Nikola Tesla's biopic. Tennessee Williams wrote the play "Camino Real" in 1953. In the center of the plot is a young man named Kilroy, who meets Don Quixote, Esmeralda, Casanova and various other characters from history and literature on his way. Ethan Hawke, the playwright's great-nephew, played Kilroy in the theater 20 years ago. Until now, he considers this role one of the best in his career, but he does not plan to act in a future film. “This piece was playing in my head all the time, says Hawk. -It's half rock opera and half Waiting for Godot. I think what Tennessee was trying to do can finally be translated into movies and more successful. ” Filming will take place in Brazil this year, with Juliette Binoche playing one of the main roles, Hawke hopes.
