Since the servers are located in Moscow, for comfortable streaming you need to be within 500-700 km from the capital. GFN.RU plans to open new data centers in major cities of the country. In order to start playing, you need to register on the site and download a special client for launching games. In some cases, additional configuration of the router may be required (5 GHz models are recommended), for example, if your provider closes the ports. Unlike Google Stadia, in GFN.RU you do not need to purchase games specifically for the service: there are enough of those that you have already purchased on Steam, Uplay and other stores. GFN.RU invites you to take advantage of their power to use your library where previously it was impossible. It works as follows: the game is launched and processed on the Moscow server GFN.RU, and the image is broadcast as a high quality video to your device. So the Macbook Air doesn't have to work too hard to play Shadow of Tomb Raider at high graphics settings with advanced lighting using cinematic technologies like Ray Tracing.  The maximum video stream resolution is 1080p @ 60 frames per second, and all games tested in the editorial office worked at maximum graphics settings. In addition to the already mentioned adventures of Lara Croft, the service supports several hundred games, including many hits like The Witcher 3, Metro: Exodus, Borderlands 3, Civilization VI, DOTA 2, Fortnite, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and so on. Before testing, we were skeptical about this format of gaming, because if you run dynamic games on a remote server, then even the slightest delays and lags should be very noticeable. However, after we had our first sortie in War Thunder, it became clear that the future had already arrived. The aircraft responded well to the player's actions, and there were no problems with the response. The same can be said for DOTA 2 and Fortnite. During the entire testing period, the picture almost always remained very high-quality and only occasionally some compression artifacts could appear on the screen. Even during the active moments of the battle, the response time was adequate.  It is also worth noting that the service supports not only keyboards and mice, but also gamepads, including controllers from Xbox and PlayStation. If you are an Apple Magic Mouse user, then you should immediately connect some other controller, because it has one active key. GFN.RU offers three tariffs: 999 rubles per month, 4999 for six months and 9999 for a year. If we consider that a modern gaming computer costs about a hundred thousand rubles, then a dozen in a year or a thousand in a month does not seem like a lot of money. Moreover, the company offers a free trial period of 14 days. During this time, you can understand whether your Internet connection is suitable for games and whether you need to renew your subscription further or not.
