In the next couple of months, moviegoers will visit 1969 Hollywood more than once. Quentin Tarantino will be the first to arrange a behind-the-scenes tour of the world of film and television, and James Franco will take over from him. Those who closely follow the director's career of the latter have probably heard of a project called Zeroville. The film has been gathering dust on the shelves of the Dream Factory for several years, but luck smiled at Franco, and his creation will finally reach the screens.The protagonist of the picture is an architectural student and simply cinephile Vic. He loves cinema and goes for a weekend in Hollywood, going through a turning point in his history. The guy with the tattoo on the bald head, which depicts Elizabeth Taylor in the arms of Montgomery Clift, does not fit into the scene of sex and rock and roll, and the local police even take him for a member of the "Family" Charles Manson. As a result, Vic still becomes his own in Hollywood - gets a job as an editor, plunges headlong into the world of starlets and luxurious parties and meets a wide variety of people, from hippies to political activists. Franco bought the rights to the film adaptation of Steve Erickson's book back in 2011. A few years later, a stellar company gathered on the set of the picture - Franco himself, who played Vic, Seth Rogen, Megan Fox, Jackie Weaver, Danny McBride, Joey King and many others. Soon Zeroville acquired a distributor, but Alchemy ran into financial problems leaving the tape unassigned. Fortunately, all legal issues have been settled, and five years after the start of filming, "Zeroville" will reach cinemas.
