The Beatles manager will receive his own biopic
Swedish director and music lover Jonas Akerlund will stage a biopic about the manager of the legendary Beatles, who contributed to the musicians' commercial success. Called Midas Man *, the film tells the story of Brian Epstein's role in the 1960s Cultural Revolution and the unprecedented impact he had on pop music.Epstein has been captivated by the legendary Liverpool quartet ever since he first heard them perform at the Cavern Club in 1961. He not only helped The Beatles gain worldwide popularity, but also revealed the talent of Cilla Black, Billy J. Kramer and the Gerry and the Pacemakers collective. Among other things, Epstein provided the venue for Jimi Hendrix, The Who and Pink Floyd.  The producer's life was tragically cut short in 1967, when Epstein was only 32 years old.
