Casting: Queen's Favorite and Beatles Manager

Image Deadline reports that Rachel Weisz ("The Mummy") is in talks to get a role in Yorgos Lanthimos's upcoming film The Favorite . If all goes well, the film will be the second collaboration between the director and the actress: the first was the drama Lobster, which premiered this year at the Cannes Film Festival .

The script for the new project belongs to the pen of Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara. The film, which will unfold in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, tells about the political intrigues during the reign of Queen Anne - the last representative of the Stuart dynasty on the English throne.

The cast of the film already includes Olivia Colman (she will play the queen herself) and Emma Stone. Weiss claims the role previously cast by Kate Winslet: she will try on the image of Duchess of Marlborough - Anna 's favorite. Filming of the historical drama will begin in spring 2016.

According to the same source, Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Jack O'Connell (Unbreakable) are ready to take part in the filming of the movie A Life in the Day . The film is about Brian Epstein, the music manager who opened the Beatles to the general public. Holt claims to be Epstein himself, and O'Connell may play John Lennon. The relationship of these two outstanding personalities is still the subject of controversy among biographers and journalists. The main candidate for the director's chair of the project is Justin Chadwick (Another Boleyn), and the script was directed by Tony Gittelson.

And finally, Eve Hewson ("Wherever You Are") got the role of the maiden Marian - the beloved of Robin Hood in Otto Buferst's film Robin Hood: Origins . The project is a new take on the story of the Sherwood Forest Outlaw. Returning home from the Crusade, Robin Hood discovers evil and corruption flourishing in his homeland. To put things in order, he gathers a gang of robbers. Taron Egerton is in talks to get the lead role, and Hewson has reportedly been able to audition nearly a hundred talented applicants.
