Konchalovsky is preparing a drama about dear comrades

Image In recent years, more and more attempts have been made to rethink the national history of the Soviet era in cinema. Unfortunately, not all of these films pay due attention to historical accuracy and do not contribute to the understanding of USA viewers of their own history. Director Andrei Konchalovsky stated this in a recent interview:“Recently we have seen a lot of films in which the 60-70-80s of the twentieth century look fake, far-fetched, in no way corresponding to the Soviet films shot at that time , - " The Cranes Are Flying " or The Ballad of the Soldier.

At the moment, the director is busy filming his new film "Dear Comrades" about one of the darkest episodes of the 60s - the armed dispersal of a peaceful demonstration of workers in Novocherkassk in 1962, which, according to official figures, killed 26 people. According to Konchalovsky, the tape"will be about the life of a party worker in Novocherkassk at the time of the shooting of the demonstration". The main heroine of the film (performed by Yulia Vysotskaya) is"a builder of communism, a participant in the war, a convinced pure person, like most Soviet people were". At the same time, as the director himself admits, his main task in his new work is to thoroughly and in detail restore the era of the USSR in the 60s.

It is expected that the shooting of the film, funds for which were also allocated by the Ministry of Culture of the USA Federation, will be completed in September. At the moment, mass scenes have already been filmed, for which a life-size set has been built at the Luzhniki stadium. In addition to Moscow, filming took place in Novocherkassk and the Rostov region. The premiere is scheduled for next fall.
