After Salyut-7, which was complex in terms of staging and special effects, director Klim Shipenko turned his attention to smaller projects, one of which is the film Text, a screen version of the novel of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The filmmaker himself explains his choice by the fact that this is how he realizes himself in the cinema - changing the genre orientation and not getting hung up on one thing. And the variety of genres in the "Text", both printed and cinematic, is present: there are elements of drama, thriller, and even noir.The hero of the film, 27-year-old Ilya Goryunov, returns home after seven years in prison, where he was falsely accused of distributing drugs. However, nothing remained of Ilya's former life, and the only thing that now motivates the guy is the desire to take revenge on the man who hid him behind bars. Having gained access to the smartphone of his abuser Peter, Goryunov plunges headlong into his life. Photos, videos, correspondence with family and colleagues - all this is at the disposal of Ilya, and through the text on the phone screen he turns into Peter ... The main role in "Text" was played by Alexander Petrov, and the creators of the film adaptation claim that they never had doubts that it was Petrov who would do the best with the image of Ilya. Also, Christina Asmus, Ivan Yankovsky and Sofya Ozerova are involved in the film, and the author of the original novel Dmitry Glukhovsky will appear in a cameo.
