The way out of the situation turned out to be quite simple: you should not rely on standard techniques - you need to try something new. And now in the DC universe there are already several worlds: in one the Joker lives, in the other - Flash and his brothers in the "Justice League". Batman will take a separate corner of this universe next year. The first promo video for Matt Reeves' film was presented as part of the DC FanDome virtual convention. After watching it, even those who were skeptical about the appearance of another Dark Knight will surely join the fan camp.
The presented video looks so organic that you wonder why WB studio wasted years trying to shoot pretentious and at the same time realistic movie comics. The Dark Knight himself performed by Robert Pattinson, the song of the Nirvana group, the grunge atmosphere of Gotham - all play into the hands of the new "Batman". Matt Reeves aspired to create a noir detective story and, by his own admission, was inspired by such classics of the 70s as "French Connection", "Chinatown" and "Taxi Driver. In the new "Batman" Bruce Wayne will appear before the audience as a cool detective investigating a series of murders, which, judging by the trailer, committed the Riddler (Paul Dano). The Dark Knight will also meet other classic villains from DC comics - Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz), Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro).
