Paul Rudd's Ghost Hunt
After the women's team of ghostbusters failed on their mission to resurrect the iconic franchise, Sony has tweaked the bugs so viewers will get Ghostbusters that are much closer to canon than the Paul Fig version. Moreover, recently it became known that the upcoming film will also involve the old-timers of the franchise, and now another Hollywood star - Paul Rudd ("Ant-Man") has answered the challenge.It is not yet clear who Rudd will play, but director Jason Reitman admitted that he dreamed of working with Paul for a long time - even from the moment when his short film preceded the premiere of Hot American Summer at the Sundance festival. Sony studio keeps the details of the future film in secret, and the only thing that journalists have managed to find out until now is that the main characters will be mother and son. They will be played in the tape by Carrie Kuhn and Finn Wolfard, respectively. How Reitman's version will relate to the original Ghostbusters is also unclear.  Paul Fig's tape was not noted for anything remarkable: the collection of $ 229 million with a $ 144 million budget is a very modest achievement by modern standards. Popular franchises, which should be making huge profits for Hollywood studios, are becoming a disappointment lately, and Reitman will need more than Kuhn and Rudd in the cast to attract audiences.
