In the footsteps of the fathers. Trailer for the new ”Ghostbusters”

Image 35 years have passed since the ghostbusters saved the world, but the younger generation no longer remember what happened in New York back in 1984. Studio Sony has decided to correct this omission thanks to the fashionable trick today - to release a sequel to the classic Ghostbusters dilogy, which at the same time will reboot the popular franchise. A couple of years ago, the major tried to revive the film series by introducing a female team of hunters, but moviegoers prefer not to remember that unsuccessful attempt, and the film "Ghostbusters: The Heirs" will ignore the events of the 2016 tape.

In the center of the events of the "Heirs" will be single mother Kelly and her two children, who move to a small town in Oklahoma, where there is a dilapidated house they inherited from their grandfather. The old farm isn't that simple, however, and as it turns out, has a lot to do with ghostbusters. All sorts of instruments, costumes and the legendary car are included. They will come in handy when strange events begin to take place in the city and the world is in danger again.

The Heirs is the sequel to Ghostbusters II. The filming was directed by Jason Reitman, who is the son of Ivan Reitman, the director of the original dilogy. For his film, Reitman Jr. has assembled a talented cast: Emmy-nominated Carrie Coon plays a single mother, her children Finn Wolfard and McKenna Grace, and Paul Rudd will guide the young generation on the right path. The old-timers of the franchise - Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Annie Potts will return in the sequel, but they have not yet appeared in the first trailer for "The Heirs".

Judging by the first clip, moviegoers will get an adventure film about teenagers with a fair amount of nostalgia for the 80s, and some even compare the new "Ghostbusters" with "Mysterious Events". Time will tell whether this comparison is good for Reitman's picture, and it will be released on July 9.
