AFI's Best Movies of 2019
In Hollywood, the winter season of film and TV awards is gathering pace. Today the American Film Institute (AFI) presented its list of the best films and TV series of 2019.The independent film organization has existed since 1967. The Institute's annual roster helps determine the top favorites for the Oscar race: since 2010, when the American Academy expanded its list of nominees for Best Picture, AFI experts have guessed 86% of the finalists. Pictures of various genres made their way to the list of the best film works - from the war drama about the First World War to the touching story of the reunification of a Chinese family. A special AFI prize went to one of the main film sensations of the outgoing year - the black comedy "Parasites".  As for the top ten serials, there was not a single broadcast television project in it. AFI employees, of course, could not ignore the final season of Game of Thrones, the biographical drama Fossey / Verdon, a mini-series about the elimination of the Chernobyl accident and other hits from cable channels and online services. A special tele-award from the Institute was awarded to the British dramedy "Rubbish".
