The American Film Institute named the best films of 2016
American Film Institute ( AFI ) has published a list of the best films and TV series of the outgoing year.The AFI rating quite often manages to predict the main favorites of the Oscar race. Last year, the Institute included in its top 10 six films at once, which later entered the top eight nominees for the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the Best Film category. There is no doubt that this time the members of the AFI organization have chosen films, which will compete for the most valuable cinematographic awards this winter. As for the composition of the best television projects of 2016, it is traditionally a fusion of experience and youth. The old-timers of the small screen on the AFI list are Better Call Saul ( Better Call Saul ) and Game of Thrones . and among the brightest novelties of the past TV season, the American Film Institute noted the anthology American Crime Story and the mystical thriller Mysterious Events ( Stranger Things).
