Chucky is deadly good
Last year, the killer doll Chucky returned to the big screens, but the reboot of the horror franchise took place without the participation of its creator and permanent screenwriter Don Mancini. In recent years, he was engaged in preparing a series about Chucky, and now the project got the go-ahead from Syfy - the channel ordered the first season of the show without filming the pilot.Typically, a pilot episode allows network bosses to assess the potential of a novelty, but in the case of Children's Games, previous achievements of Mancini and his colleague David Kershner speak eloquently about the prospects of the show. They have managed to scare audiences for three decades, and today the franchise has a huge fan base. Mancini, in turn, will act as a showrunner, scriptwriter for the project, and will also film several episodes. According to the official synopsis, the vintage Chucky doll will hit a suburban yard sale, after which the idyllic American city will plunge into chaos. A string of grisly murders will expose the secrets and hypocrisy of the locals. Chucky's old enemies and allies can reveal the identity of the killer, and the story of the demon's origins will shed light on how an ordinary child turned into an infamous monster.  Earlier, producer David Kershner said that the series will return to the roots of the franchise and show the confrontation between Chucky and the children.
