Chucky settles on Syfy

Image About a year ago, Don Mancini first spoke of the fact that Chucky's killer doll could make it to the small screens. The longtime screenwriter for Children's Games has finally found a network to support his aspirations. The series about Chucky will be directed by the cable channel Syfy.

Mancini, who had a hand in the script for all parts of the franchise and directed the filming of several of them, will be directly involved in the creation of the new show. Together with him, the project will be produced by veteran of the film series David Kershner and Nick Antoska ("Believe").

The official press release states that the Chucky series is a fresh take on the long-running franchise. It will reveal the character and history of a creepy doll with a fullness characteristic only of a television format. There is no information about the plot of the show yet, but earlier Mancini claimed that it was not a remake, but a continuation of the "Cult of Chucky". It is not for nothing that the creators of the horror film ended the tape with a cliffhanger, leaving a number of unanswered questions.

It is noteworthy that in the near future Chucky will visit not only small, but also large screens. A remake of Children's Games will open in cinemas this June. Mancini has nothing to do with him and even openly told reporters that he did not approve of MGM's idea of completely restarting the franchise, to which he gave a good three decades of his life.
