Green Lantern will have its own TV series

Image On the failed 2011 Green Lantern comic strip, Warner Bros. tries not to remember. The disappointment was so great that already in 2014, the leadership of the major launched the Green Lantern Corps project, which would present one of the most popular DC characters in the best light. However, the work on the tape did not get off the ground, and WB found another way out - to send the Green Lantern to small screens. The company announced that it has begun development of a series about the defender of the universe, and it will be released on streaming service WarnerMedia.

The details of the project have not yet been disclosed, but Greg Berlanti himself, the godfather of the superhero universe The CW, is responsible for its creation. At a presentation in Burbank, the producer said the Green Lantern series would be the largest television project ever filmed from DC comics. The goals of the new online service are quite clear: in a world where you have to compete with such giants as Netflix and Amazon, you need to attract not only stars of the first magnitude, but also to scale.

Many people were hiding under the guise of Green Lantern in DC comics. The most popular among them is test pilot Hal Jordan. He, by the way, was played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 film. Also, rings of power, giving their owners superpowers, which are limited only by will and imagination, were worn by the unbalanced Guy Gardner, architect John Stewart and artist Kyle Reiner.

It is not yet known whether the new project will be related to the DC MCU or other series based on the publisher's comics, or whether Berlanti is preparing a series that stands apart from the rest of the adaptations.
