Animated ”Transformers” rush to the screens

Image Paramount has not forgotten about the Transformers franchise. In January it became known that the major had found authors for two feature films of the film series, and now the animated Transformers has become one step closer to the big screens.

For the first time they started talking about the project back in 2015. Then Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari ("Ant-Man and the Wasp") were chosen as the scriptwriters of the cartoon. It became known that the text written by the duo is being implemented by Josh Cooley, who this year won an Oscar for his fourth Toy Story. The director's filmography also includes "Puzzle".

Animated "Transformers" is positioned as a prequel, which will unfold on Cybertron - the home planet of the Autobots and Decepticons. The plot of the cartoon will focus on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron. It is also known that the project is in no way associated with either the main film series or its spin-off about Bumblebee.

With the production of feature films suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Hasbro considers the animated prequel a priority project for the franchise. Moreover, work on the cartoon is already in full swing.
