The Fugitive Remake has a director

Image In the spring of 2015, Warner Bros. thought about rebooting the Fugitive franchise. Since then, she has sold the rights to create the Japanese remake and TV series for the online service Quibi, but never sent her own film into production. It looks like the studio bosses are finally ready to tell the old story in a new way. Today it became known that the film has finally found a director.

The history of the franchise dates back to 1963, when the first episode of the thriller "The Fugitive" was released on television. The series told the story of Richard Kimble, a talented doctor who was sentenced to death on false charges of murdering his wife. The multi-part drama earned critical acclaim and ran for four seasons.

In 1993, WB released a film version of the series starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. The latter gave such a vivid performance that he earned an Oscar. In 2000, the heroes of the franchise returned to TV, but the series "The Runaway: The Chase Continues" was not successful with viewers and closed after the first season.

The plot of the new English-language remake was invented by Brian Tucker ("City of Vice"). Filming will be headed by Albert Hughes ("From Hell", "The Book of Eli").
