WB is preparing a new ”Runaway”
Deadline has announced that Warner Bros. is starting work on a new film in the Fugitive franchise. The 1993 film starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones became that rare case in Hollywood history, when an equally popular film was shot based on the popular TV series.Christina Hodson has been selected as the scriptwriter for the project, and Anne and Arnold Copelsons will take over the production functions. There is no word yet on whether Ford and Jones will take part in the filming of the new action movie. David Janssen stars in the original series, which aired for four seasons in the 60s on ABC . He appeared on the screens in the form ofDr. Richard Kimble - a surgeon, unjustly accused of murdering his wife. To whitewash his name, the hero begins to search for the one-armed man with whom he allegedly fought at the time of his wife's death, and leaves clues to the police officer investigating this case.  The film by Andrew Davis, released in 1993, became one of the hits of the 90s for WB , grossing $ 369 million with a budget of $ 40 million. The film received four Oscar nominations , and Tommy Lee Jones received the coveted statuette. Later there was a sequel to the action movie - "Servants of the Law", in which the main roles were played by the same Jones , Robert Downey Jr. and Wesley Snipes.
