The Saint returns to service

Image Since 2016, the Paramount studio has been trying to return to the screens the Saint, who had previously visited both cinema and television. The Saint was originally the protagonist of Leslie Charteris's books. After that, he migrated to TV, where he was played by the future Bond Roger Moore, and in 1997, an action thriller with Val Kilmer in the title role reached the big screens. Paramount still wants to introduce the elusive Robin Hood to modern audiences, and the project has finally found a director.

Dexter Fletcher is planning to send the Saint towards new adventures. He has little directing experience, but his dramas deserve praise from critics. After the release of "Rocketman" studios are interested in Fletcher's services. Paramount wants to charge him with a new "Saint", and Universal wants to make him a henchman of Dracula. It is not yet clear who will be the first of them.

The protagonist of The Saint is the master of lies and deception and the thunderstorm of the underworld Simon Templer, who started out as the Robin Hood of his time. Usually Simon steals from dishonest politicians or rich villains in order to give their fortune to those who really need these funds.

Earlier there were rumors that Chris Pratt was interested in the role of the Saint, but so far this information has not been confirmed. Taron Edgerton looks like a more winning option - he has already worked with Fletcher twice, and he has experience of "robingood", albeit not very successful.
