The director staged the play "Dragon" for the first time back in 1963 on the stage of the Student Theater of Moscow State University. In 1978 the movie "An Ordinary Miracle" was released, and ten years later - "Kill the Dragon". The complex, flowery philosophy of the writer, hidden behind the simplicity of fairy-tale forms, fits perfectly into the multi-level construction of Mark Zakharov's paintings.  Mark Anatolyevich worked with filigree directorial precision on the picture "An Ordinary Miracle". Evgeny Schwartz recalled that he was always very anxious about his play "The Bear" (the original title of "An Ordinary Miracle"), wrote it only in those days,"when I felt like a man". A whole galaxy of great artists was "brought up" by his cinema and the theater "Lenkom" directed by him: Evgeny Leonov, Oleg Yankovsky, Nikolai Karachentsov, Alexander Abdulov, Alexander Zbruev, Inna Churikova and others.
