Tanks and David Eyre are not afraid of dirt

Image It seems that director David Eyre loves tanks and everything about them. In 2014, the filmmaker presented the war drama Fury to the public. The tape received positive reviews in the press, and Air will try to repeat the success of five years ago with another similar project - the drama "El Alamein", which is in production at the Lionsgate studio.

The script for the film was written by David Self ("The Wolf Man"), and after him the text was finalized by James Coyne ("A kind of justice"). The film will be based on real historical battles that took place during World War II, when the British army and German troops under the command of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel clashed on the battlefield.

There were two battles at El Alamein in total. Both of them are dated 1942 and were deployed on the territory of Egypt, and the tank forces played the decisive role in their outcome. The second of these battles has already been shown in the Italian-French film "The Battle of El Alamein", released in 1969.

Eyre plans to start filming his new film early next year. There is no information about the cast yet, but Lionsgate will surely invite a Hollywood star of the first echelon to the lead role, as was the case with Brad Pitt in Rage. In the meantime, Ayr is finishing work on the crime drama Tax Collector and preparing a sequel to Brightness for Netflix.
