Cannes 2015: Main Program and Dark Portman
The competition program of the 68th International Cannes Film Festival , one of the most prestigious world shows, has been officially announced. This year, from 13 to 24 May, it will be dedicated to the memory of Ingrid Bergman, a bold and versatile actress who was simultaneously a central figure of neorealism, a Hollywood star, and a favorite of independent filmmakers. This summer, Ingrid would be one hundred years old. That is why her face will show off on the official poster in Cannes 2015. By the way, her daughter Isabella Rossellini will lead the jury in the program “ Special Look ”.But the films in the Main Competition will be judged by a team led by Ethan and Joel Coen. They will face a difficult task, because among the contestants there are entirely venerable professionals, laureates of various festivals and awards. Todd Haynes, director of the excellent musical dramas Velvet Goldmine and I'm Not There, will present Carol starring Rooney Mara, Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson. For " Palme d'Or ", Justin Kurzel will compete with him with the classic Shakespearean story " Macbeth ", played out by Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.
