”Training Day” goes to TV

Image According to Deadline journalists, Warner Bros. Television has started working on a TV series based on the movie " Training Day ".

WBTV came up with the idea to bring the 2001 crime thriller to small screens by the director of the original Antoine Fuqua , who is likely to take the director's chair for the pilot episode. The project will be supported by renowned producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Bad Boys) and his company Jerry Bruckheimer Television .

The protagonists of " Training Day " were Drug Enforcement Newbie Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) and the corrupt police veteran Alonzo Harris , whose role brought Denzel Washington receives his second Oscar .

The TV version of the thriller will be written by Will Bill ("Castle" / Castle ), who will have to move the action 15 years forward after the events of the original. WBTV is also considering changing the skin color of the protagonists, which could result in a rookie police officer being African American and his experienced counterpart white. Reportedly, the producers have already begun to actively offer their series to the four main air channels in America - ABC , CBS , FOX and NBC .
