Image As reported by Entertainment Weekly , NBC has begun work on the sequel to the sitcom " Coach " aired ABC from 1989 to 1997. The creators of the series were given the green light to produce 13 new episodes without preliminary filming of the pilot episode.

Hayden Fox will be played by Craig T. Nelson , and the sequel will unfold 18 years after the events of the original. The main character will have to resume his coaching career in order to become an assistant to his own son, who headed the University of Pennsylvania American football team.

The sequel to The Trainer will return to the original series creator, Barry Kemp , to take over the production and lead the writing team. The original sitcom won two Emmy awards and was also one of the top 10 most watched TV series on American television for a time.

The return to the screens of the cult series of the 90s is gaining more and more popularity on TV . Late last year, Showtime began work on the third season of Twin Peaks , and a few days ago, Fox gave green light of the sequel to "The X-Files" ( The X-Files ).
