Image The online service Netflix and the Canadian channel Showcase have decided to join forces on the TV series Travelers , reports Deadline . The authoring group of the serial drama will be led by the creator of the legendary science fiction shows Stargate ( Stargate SG-1 ), Stargate Atlantis ( Stargate Atlantis ) and Stargate : Universe "( Stargate Universe ) Brad Wright .

In the distant future, humanity is on the verge of complete destruction. The world gains a fragile hope of salvation when the last people on Earth discover a way to send their consciousness into the past. They take for themselves the identities of random people from the 21st century, and then embark on a mission to prevent the onset of a bleak future.

The creators of the series have already auditioned for key roles. The time traveler leader who took over the body of FBI special agent Grant McLaren will be played by Emmy award-winning Eric McCormack .
