The Gremlins Remake Gets Written

Image Despite fierce opposition from 1984 Gremlins fans, Warner Bros. , Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus continue to develop the remake. According to Empire , the last action of the project initiators was the appointment of Karl Ellsworth ("Paranoia") as the new scriptwriter of the film.

As a reminder, in January of this year it was announced that the work on the remake was“paused”, as all the people involved in it switched their attention to other projects. But now the bosses of Warner Bros. seem to have decided to return to the idea of giving new life to adorable monsters.

It is not yet clear what exactly the studio wants from the reboot, but earlier there were rumors that the tape would introduce new characters to the audience, keeping the spirit of the original. Zach Galligan, the star of the first two films, has already announced his desire to take part in the filming of the new film. Spielberg and Columbus (writer of the 1984 film and its sequel) are executive producers of the remake.
