Lionsgate Announces Cuba Remake
Lionsgate is starting work on a remake of the sci-fi thriller Cube , reports The Hollywood Reporter .The new version of the cult film of 1997 was named Cubed , and the director's chair of the project is Saman Keshavarts , who had previously worked only with short films. Roy Lee ("The Woman in Black") and John Spates will be producing. The latter, by the way, acted as one of the screenwriters of Prometheus. The remake will use the concept of the original - seven strangers are trapped in a huge space, shaped like a cube. The filmmakers describe the new project as a sci-fi thriller about artificial intelligence, human nature and the emergence of a new "digital" race.
