Will Ridley Scott send Prisoner to the big screen?
At 78, Ridley Scott may well claim the title of Hollywood's premier workaholic. Over the past year alone, the Briton managed to present the biblical epic "Exodus: Kings and Gods" and the sci-fi blockbuster "The Martian" to the audience, as well as take an active part in the work on the ambitious TV series "The Man in the High Castle" ( The Man in the High Castle ). According to Deadline , the list of directorial projects of the eminent filmmaker may be replenished with a tape based on the serial drama " The Prisoner ".The original series of the British channel ITV was released in 1967. Its main character was a man who came to his senses in a mysterious settlement, all residents of which do not remember anything about their past and wear numbers instead of names. In 2009, ITV teamed up with American cable channel AMC to remake their show. Ian McKellen, James Caviezel, Ruth Wilson, Hayley Atwell and Lenny James starred in the miniseries The Prisoner .  Reportedly, Scott has already entered into negotiations with the film company Universal , which has been trying to bring the heroes of the legendary series to the big screens since 2006. At some point, Christopher Nolan looked closely at the project, and Christopher McQuarrie (Mission Impossible: Outcast Tribe) and William Monahan (The Departed) managed to offer their versions of the script to the Hollywood major over the past years.  Ridley Scott is currently preparing to shoot the sci-fi movie Alien: Covenant, which will take place ten years after the events of the blockbuster "Prometheus".
