Disney Films The Chronicles of Pryden
Studio Disney has decided to make a second attempt to transfer heroes of the book series " The Chronicles of Pryden " to the screens. According to Variety , the management of the film company has completed negotiations to acquire the rights to adapt all five novels of the famous fantasy series by Lloyd Alexander.The books are set in the magical land of Pryden , the geography and culture of which resembles ancient Wales. The protagonist of the " Chronicle of Pryden " is a young man Tharen , who lives on the farm of the wizard Dallben . The magician instructed the boy to take care of the soothsayer pig Heng Wen , but Tharen himself dreamed of great achievements. When the cunning villain Arovn decided to kidnap the four-legged fortuneteller, fate finally gave the young man a chance to go on an amazing adventure ... The first two parts of the book cycle have already formed the basis for the plot of the cartoon "Black Cauldron" - the first animation project of Disney , which was created using computer graphics.  Thanks to its somber tone, " Black Cauldron " earned a PG rating for the first time in the history of the animation department of the Walt Disney Company, as a result of which the cartoon managed to earn only $ 21 million at the American box officewith a budget of $ 44 million . Insiders have yet to say whether the new adaptation of the Chronicle of Pryden will be a live-action movie, or if the bosses of Disney are ready to try their luck in the world of animation again.
