Anthony originally planned to create a trilogy, but the books Enchant for Chameleosha , The Source of Magic and Castle of Rugna ”Were so warmly received by fantasy fans that the author decided to expand the cycle to nine pieces. In the mid-80s, Pierce again could not refuse his fans when they began to demand new stories about the amazing inhabitants of Xanthus . As a result, in four decades he wrote more than 40 books about a fairyland. This is not the first time Hollywood has tried to bring the heroes of a famous book cycle to the big screen. In the middle of the last decade, the rights to the film based on the works of Anthony were owned by the studio Warner Bros. They wanted to entrust the work on the tape to screenwriter David Benioff (Game of Thrones) and director Wolfgang Petersen (" An endless story "), but in the end the project was sent to the shelf.
