Directors Guild awards colleagues
The 68th Directors Guild of America Awards ceremony took place today at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by actress Jane Lynch.The DGA ranks include about 16 thousand directors who annually celebrate the achievements of their colleagues in the field of feature films, documentaries and television. Over the past decade, the Directors Guild Directors Guild Awards winners in the Best Feature Film Director category have matched the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nine times. The 2016 Directors Guild of America Awards winners are: Best Feature Film Director - Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (The Survivor)  Best Debutant Director - Alex Garland (Out of the Car)  Best Documentary Director - Matt Heineman (Land of the Cartels)  Best Director, Drama Series - David Nutter ( Game of Thrones )  Best Director, Comedy Series - Chris Addison ( Veep )  Best Director of a Miniseries or TV Movie - Dee Rees ( Bessie )  Industry Contribution Honorary Award - Joe Pitka
