Directors Guild of America presented their awards (movies)
The American Directors Guild Awards ceremony took place in the USA. Alfonso Cuaron was named Best Feature Film Director in 2013 for Gravity. Paul Greengrass, Martin Scorsese, Steve McQueen and David O. Russell were his rivals in this nomination. Director Stephen Soderbergh received a special award for his contribution to the development of cinema. Note that the preferences of the Directors Guild very often coincide with the preferences of the American Film Academy. Over the past 10 years, only once, the director, recognized by the Guild as the best, then did not receive an Oscar.
