Dick Tracy is ready to take on a new business
The rapid rise in popularity of movie comics may help return to the screens of the famous hero of graphic novels Chester Gould. Empire reports that at CinemaCon , producer Arnon Milchan and Oscar-winning actor and director Warren Beatty announced their desire to film a sequel crime comedy " Dick Tracy ".Beatty directed and performed the title role in the original 1990 film. " Dick Tracy " received mixed reviews from critics, but was nominated for seven Oscars . Despite winning the Best Makeup, Best Production Designer and Best Song categories, Disney was reluctant to film the second part. The bosses of the film company did not like that Beatty could not meet the established budget, because of which the production of " Dick Tracy " did not have to spend $ 25 million , and $ 47 million . According to then-chairman of the studio, Jeffrey Katzenberg, an additional $ 53 million was set aside for marketing, which made the $ 162 million million in revenue unable to cover production and advertising costs for the film.  Beatty himself was eager to return to the image of a brave police detective, because of which he had to enter into a protracted battle for the rights to the franchise with their previous owners - the company Tribune Media Services .
