The creator of Fargo is ready to freeze the planet
In early May, we wrote that IM Global Television has begun creating a television adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's novel Cat's Cradle . As reported by The Hollywood Reporter , the project managed to find shelter on the FX channel. The miniseries will be produced and written by Noah Hawley , with whom the network's management has developed a warm partnership while working on the crime drama "Fargo" ( Fargo ).In Cat's Cradle , Vonnegut touches on religious, scientific, political and environmental issues. The plot of the novel by the famous American satirical writer is built around the invention of the "ice-nine" substance, which crystallizes so rapidly upon contact with water that it can freeze the entire World Ocean in the shortest possible time ...  Over the years, many literary critics have referred to " Cat's Cradle " as one of those books that are almost impossible to film. A decade ago, Leonardo DiCaprio's company Appian Way Productions attempted to adapt the novel for the big screen, but eventually the film was shelved. After Hawley won Best Miniseries at the Emmy and Golden Globes for Fargo , FX entrusted him with work on another intriguing project - the adaptation of the Legion comics.
