Filming for Dovlatov will start in autumn
USA director and screenwriter Alexei German Jr. ("Garpastum") this fall begins filming a biographical film that will tell about several days in the life of the writer Sergei Dovlatov, reports RIA Novosti .The film, named "Dovlatov" , will unfold in Leningrad in 1971. According to the plot, Dovlatov is actively writing, but has not yet been published. At the same time, he takes an active part in social life, spending leisure time in the company of such people as, for example, Joseph Brodsky. German Jr. over the past three years has been immersed in the study of the life and work of Sergei Donatovich , who was well acquainted with the parents and grandfather of Alexei . The director calls the writera "superstar of USA literature"and assures that he intends to reproduce the spirit of the era in his film, paying due attention to the smallest details.  According to the source, casting for the main roles will start in the very near future, and the search for actors will be carried out not only in USA, but also abroad.
