Submarine will receive a remake
According to Variety , the German film studio Bavaria Film is working on a remake of its cult military drama Submarine .Wolfgang Petersen's film became one of the most expensive projects in the history of German cinema. The film's budget is estimated at $ 14 million , and its worldwide box office - at $ 80 million . In 1983, a war drama based on the novel by Lothar-Gunther Buchheim received six Oscar nominations in the categories Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound, and Best Sound Editing. The main roles in the film were played by Jurgen Prochnov, Herbert Grenmeier and Klaus Wennemann.
