Scorsese vs. Marvel
In Hollywood, another scandal flares up. Famed director Martin Scorsese criticized the superhero blockbusters Marvel a few days ago. According to the Oscar-winning director, the pictures of Kevin Feige's studio are just an entertainment show and have nothing to do with real cinema. The director's words provoked a violent reaction on social networks, but the troublemaker did not back down and fired another critical arrow at the film comics.“I stand by my opinion, Martin said in a new interview. -Marvel paintings are not cinematography, but the situation is such that they have taken over all the cinemas of the world. It's time for cinema chain owners to get their heads together and start showing real fiction films, not just rides. For better or worse, cinemas have become amusement parks today”. There is, of course, a grain of salt in this reasoning, but Scorsese forgets that the entertainment component has always played a huge role in cinema. Suffice it to recall at least the legendary “Arrival of a train at the station of the city of La Ciotat”, which took just a wow effect, and not a brilliant plot or powerful acting work. Moreover, Martin himself is not without sin: in 2011, he shot the 3D blockbuster Timekeeper.  Perhaps the picture can be considered a "real movie" as it earned eleven Oscar nominations. Keep in mind, however, that the $ 150 million film project was left without awards in key categories such as Best Film, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. All Golden Time Keeper statuettes were received exclusively in the audiovisual categories - Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Production Designer and Best Special Effects. In addition, Scorsese played an important role in the fate of The Joker, although his name did not make it into the film's final credits. It is hard to imagine that the autumn novelty could have earned half a billion in ten days if it was called "Arthur Fleck" and had nothing to do with comics.
