Vengeance Trilogy Creator Shows New World Order
The iconic South Korean filmmaker Park Chang-wok ("Oldboy") has accepted the invitation to take the director's chair on the adaptation of Satoshi Ito's book " Genocide Organ ", reports The Tracking Board . The debut novel Ito was published in 2007 and received the title of the best Japanese science fiction book of the decade from the popular in the Land of the Rising Sun edition SF ga yomitai .The film takes place in a world in which Sarajevo was destroyed by an improvised nuclear bomb. Democracies in the leading states were replaced by harsh totalitarianism, and the countries of the Third World were swept by a wave of genocide. The culprit of all the troubles on the planet is believed to be the mysterious American terrorist John Paul , the hunt for whom on the ruins of civilization is led by intelligence officer Clavis Shepherd ... Several years ago, the studio Manglobe made an attempt to create an animated film based on the novel Ito . Her unexpected bankruptcy almost put an end to the project directed by Shuko Murase, but at the end of last year the anime decided to take under its wing Geno . The premiere of the animated version of The Genocide Organ is scheduled for later this year.  At the moment, Park Chang-wok is busy on the set of the film adaptation of Sarah Waters's novel " Velvet Claws ", and his immediate plans remain to work on another sci-fi tape - " Second birth ".
